Rexall is a Canadian pharmacy chain that was established in 1904 in the city of Brantford, Ontario. The company’s name is derived from the phrase “RX all,” which was commonly used in the early 20th century as a shorthand for “prescription for all.”
Over the years, Rexall has expanded its operations and now has over 400 stores across Canada, offering a wide range of products and services including prescription medication, over-the-counter drugs, health and wellness products, and beauty and personal care items. In addition to its brick-and-mortar locations, Rexall also operates an online store, which allows customers to order products for home delivery or pickup at their local store.
Rexall has a strong reputation for providing high-quality pharmacy services, and many of its locations are staffed by pharmacists who can offer expert advice on medication and other health-related issues. The company has also launched several initiatives to promote health and wellness in the communities it serves, including partnerships with local organizations and the provision of health clinics and vaccination services.
In 2016, Rexall was acquired by McKesson Canada, a subsidiary of the global healthcare services company McKesson Corporation. Despite the change in ownership, Rexall has continued to operate under its own name and brand, and remains one of Canada’s leading pharmacy chains.
